We are bursting with pride as we announce that the Kham River Restoration Mission in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar (previously known as Aurangabad) spearheaded by our very own INK Fellow Gauri Mirashi, has been shortlisted as a TOP 5 FINALIST for the World Resources Institute (WRI) Ross Prize for Cities – a prestigious global award!

This year’s theme, “Accelerating Momentum for Climate Ready Communities,” perfectly aligns with the mission’s impressive impact. The Kham River project stood out among a staggering 200 submissions from 148 cities across 62 countries.

This collaborative effort – a powerful partnership between the Sambhajinagar Municipal Corporation, Aurangabad Cantonment Board, Varroc, andEcoSattva Environmental Solutions – has set a shining example for climate-resilient riverfront development. It tackles pollution prevention head-on, promotes waste recovery, and fosters a spirit of community participation and social inclusion.

“This recognition is a testament to the transformative power of collective action in driving sustainable urban development and tackling the crucial challenges of our time,” said Mirashi, Co-Founder and CEO of Ecosattva, who has been the driving force behind this remarkable mission.

A huge round of applause to Gauri, co-founder Natasha Zarine, and the committed team behind this achievement! The INK Fellows Program and the INK Community stand ready to support your journey towards building vibrant, eco-sensitive, and resilient communities for a brighter future!
